SUMMIT, NEW JERSEY, January 5, 2023 – Northeastern State University has expanded its existing managed services relationship with OculusIT, higher education’s leading managed IT and cloud services company, to include a virtual Chief Information Security Officer (vCISO) and GLBA risk and compliance assessment services. With over 15 years of higher education IT experience, OculusIT has helped colleges and universities across the country transform their IT operations to drive student and institutional success.
Northeastern State University will leverage OculusIT’s virtual Chief Information Security Officer services for expert, independent, and unbiased review of risk, compliance, and security methodologies, along with meeting the latest GLBA requirements. The vCISO will serve as an information security liaison to auditors, assessors, and third parties and oversee policy development and recommendations with NIST, SANS, ISACA, and ISC2 requirements while maintaining industry best practices and a cybersecurity roadmap with strategic guidance to the institution.
OculusIT’s GLBA assessment services will detect opportunities to minimize risks for operations, fraud, reputation compliance, and technologies within Northeastern State University, so that institutional and constituent data are protected and compliant with federal law.
“We take immense pride in announcing that Northeastern State University has chosen to add our virtual CISO and GLBA risk and compliance assessment services to the gamut of services we’re offering to them currently. We look forward to improving collaboration across security and IT operations teams,” said Jim Tandon, Vice President of Client Engagements at OculusIT.
Currently, OculusIT supports Northeastern State University with OculusIT Eye, a 24×7 Security Operations Center for real-time threat detection, as well as Banner® ERP DBA, Functional, and Application Monitoring services.
