SUMMARY:

The Microsoft 365 & Cloud Systems Administrator supports and manages the organization’s Microsoft 365 and cloud systems, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Intune, and Azure. Responsibilities include system administration, technical support, service optimization, and basic network troubleshooting.

Reporting to the Senior Cloud Administrator Supervisor, this position acts as an escalation contact for Tier 2/3 issues, monitors security and compliance standards, and collaborates with network engineers to maintain a hybrid on-premises and cloud infrastructure.

A suitable candidate should have Microsoft 365 administration skills, basic networking knowledge, experience with endpoint management, and an approach to IT support that emphasizes service to customers.

Essential Job Functions (Responsibilities)

Configure, manage, deploy, and support Microsoft Cloud services:

  • Maintain and support all Microsoft 365 services, cloud tools, and enterprise applications for Regis Jesuit High School, including Intune, Autopilot, Azure, SharePoint, OneDrive, Office 365, Exchange Online, Defender ATP, and more.
  • Assist in design and deploy new Microsoft 365 services as needed and provide ongoing support.
  • Train technology staff and administrators on updated Microsoft tools for use by faculty and staff.
  • Work with senior administrators to monitor, manage, and deploy security services across local and cloud systems.
  • Oversee Microsoft 365 compliance and collaborate to develop policies when necessary.

Networking Support (Basic)

  • Collaborate with Network/Systems Engineers or vendors on network configuration, Wi-Fi, and VLAN management.
  • Troubleshoot basic network issues such as connectivity, IP, DNS, or DHCP problems.
  • Provide support for integration and synchronization between on-premises and Azure Active Directory.
  • Assist senior administrators and engineers in developing procedures for network and cloud systems.
  • Carry out tasks associated with local Active Directory.
  • Support the setup and deployment of Wi-Fi infrastructure.
  • Assist with the configuration and deployment of Virtual Machines.
  • Work with engineers or vendors to manage, monitor, support, and back up local networks, servers, and services within a hybrid environment.

End user support:

  • Respond to helpdesk tickets and support requests, and follow up to ensure resolution.
  • Learn and maintain proficiency with current and new software and services used by RJ, including performing upgrades, updates, and informing users of new features.
  • Investigate undocumented issues, resolve them, and develop instructions and documentation for future reference.
  • Prepare usage and evaluation reports.
  • Communicate with employees to provide guidance on the use of RJ services and software, as well as inform them about the implementation of newly adopted services.
  • Collaborate with senior administrators and Network Engineers to configure, support, and upgrade network hardware and software across the school. (Responsibilities include 400+ Windows/iOS/MacOS devices, virtual and local servers, wired and wireless network connections, printers/copiers, students, staff, faculty, administrative users, and more.)

Other responsibilities:

  • Attend school events that support the school’s mission as approved by the Senior Cloud Administrator Supervisor.
  • Support the Senior Cloud Administrator Supervisor in technology planning and software/hardware procurement research.
  • Help manage software and service licenses.
  • Join department meetings.
  • Coordinate with HR to grant or revoke cloud resource access for employees.
  • Keep all job-related information confidential.
  • Take part in employee evaluations.
  • Complete other tasks assigned by the Senior Cloud Administrator Supervisor.

Requirements (Education, Experience, Required/Preferred Skills:

  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience with Microsoft 365 and Azure services.
  • Experience supporting Windows environments and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Some experience with:
    • Endpoint management (e.g., Intune)
    • Network support and troubleshooting
    • Virtual machines or cloud infrastructure
    • Active Directory administration

Certifications (One or more of the following strongly required or other certifications)

  • CompTIA A+
  • CompTIA Network+
  • CompTIA Security+
  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Fundamentals or Administrator Associate
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals or Administrator Associate

Equivalent certifications or demonstrated hands-on experience may be considered in lieu.

Skills

  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft cloud technologies and endpoint security.
  • Strong troubleshooting capabilities across Windows, Office, and web applications.
  • Proactive approach to learning, teamwork, and adaptability in dynamic environments.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • On-call availability
  • Manual dexterity to use computer equipment and tools.
  • Ability to lift and carry items up to 40 lbs., such as computers and peripherals.
