Job Description
- Manage, monitor, maintain, and control multiple MS SQL Server database instances.
- Provide operational support for production databases under strict SLAs.
- Perform routine DBA tasks and assist in database structure enhancements.
- Maintain multiple environments (development, staging, production).
- Conduct backups, replication, restoration, and log monitoring.
- Assist in performance monitoring and tuning.
- Support installation, configuration, and patching of database systems.
- Follow backup, archiving, and disaster recovery policies.
- Ensure SLA compliance and timely issue resolution.
- Perform database monitoring and troubleshooting.
- Use ticketing systems for incident management.
- Assist in database sizing, capacity planning, and tuning.
- Learn and apply performance analysis and optimization techniques.
Additional Expectations (ETL & ERP/BI Knowledge)
- Understanding of ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes.
- Familiarity with ETL tools like SSIS or similar platforms.
- Knowledge of data pipelines and data warehousing concepts.
- Exposure to ERP systems and enterprise data workflows.
- Experience or familiarity with BI tools like Power BI.
- Ability to support integration between ERP systems and reporting tools.
- Understanding of data quality and governance practices.
Qualifications
- Experience in high-pressure, 24/7 production environments.
- 3–5 years of database administration experience.
- Working knowledge of Linux/Unix systems.
- Scripting skills in PL/SQL, Shell, or Python.
- Understanding of ETL processes and data integration.
- Exposure to ERP systems and BI tools preferred.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work with globally distributed teams.
