Norwich University (A Banner® Institution) Selects OculusIT for ERP Cloud and Managed Services

SUMMIT, NJ, April 13, 2017 – OculusIT, a leading provider of enterprise cloud hosting, ERP management and consulting, and infrastructure managed services, is pleased to announce that Norwich University, located in Northfield, Vermont, has selected OculusIT as their partner to provide Cloud and Managed Services for their Ellucian Banner® student information system. As a part of this engagement, OculusIT will work to transform the way Norwich does business by providing their IT team with a team of cloud and ERP experts so that Norwich can continue to focus on its mission to develop and empower tomorrow’s leaders.

“Technology is rapidly evolving and for colleges and universities, budget-friendly, high value solutions are a requirement.” said Perley Dexter, Director of IT Systems & Architecture of Norwich University. “As we charted our path forward, we discovered very few service providers who provided these things alongside highly skilled technical resources. This is where OculusIT stood out and thus we selected them as our partner. While they’ll manage our Banner cloud and ERP, we’ll be rolling out forward-thinking, strategic initiatives critical to our institution’s overall growth.”

During the multi-year engagement, OculusIT will provide project management, Banner® cloud architecture, monitoring, hosting, system administration, system backup architecture, ERP system migration services, and ERP system management. The engagement, which began in February of 2017, has so far focused on utilizing OculusIT’s numerous technical resources to architect the Banner® cloud, develop project plans for migrating to the cloud and for system upgrades, and to assist Norwich University with connectivity. During 2017, systems will shift to the cloud and work will begin on upgrades and implementation of the next generation ERP.

“We are pleased that Norwich University has evaluated our Cloud and Managed Services among other vendors and has selected us. Our commitment to Higher Education and proven expertise with student information systems, hosting, and managed services will provide Norwich University, a modern, secure and scalable platform for growth,” says Ryan Haylock, VP of Strategic Engagements & CIO at OculusIT.
